Primary I Tap
- This is an introduction to beginning tap steps and rhythms
- Focus will be placed on the fine motor skills.
Primary I Jazz
- Introduction to basics in jazz technique and steps
Primary II Tap/Jazz
- Emphasis is on proper execution of beginning terms and combinations
- Gross motor skills and fine motor skills are explored separately and together
Primary III Tap/Jazz
- Tap - Students will continue honing tap skills and will be introduced to varying tap tempos and rhythms while working on balance.
- Jazz - Students will begin to work on balance and will continue expanding their jazz vocabulary.
Primary IV Tap/Jazz
- Tap- Students learn the Time Steps; begin working on balance, introduced to intermediate level terms
- Jazz- Students will be introduced to the various sides of jazz dance, including lyrical and hip hop.
Intermediate I Tap/Jazz
- Tap - Students are required to wear a 1 inch heeled tap shoe. Further work on intermediate level terms with focus on performance speed and rhythm.
- Jazz - Basic hip-hop terminology, continue working turns and intermediate level terms
Intermediate II Tap
- Introduction to Street tap, and continue fine tuning intermediate level steps
Intermediate III Tap
- Students will work on tap choreography and creating their own tap rhythms as well as learning new advanced turns and continuing to work on advanced steps.
Teen Jazz
- Teen jazz will be an over view of the many sides of jazz dance, including hip hop, classical jazz, Broadway jazz, and lyrical. Focus will be placed on proper execution of technique which allows dancers to move freely.
