Miriam first began dancing at Dance Unto the Lord in Smyrna when she was 6 years old.  There she studied ballet with an emphasis on praise and worship.  That same line of education continued when she enrolled at both Celebration School of Dance in Dallas and Eastside School of Ballet when she was 10 years old.  At Eastside, she met Rhonda Oltjenbruns who introduced her to Praise in Motion.  Miriam auditioned for Praise in Motion's invitational level at age 11 and has been dancing in the company since she was 14.  Though the bulk of her training is in ballet, Miriam has also studied jazz, tap, ballroom, hip-hop, and contemporary dance.

Having  mainly trained in Christian environments, Miriam has also received instruction at Ruth Mitchell (2002), the Atlanta Ballet (2006-2008), and the Georgia Ballet where she also performed in their production of The Nutcraker in 1999. In 2001 she attended a summer intensive with Ballet Magnificat!, the world's premiere Christian dance company.

Miriam began her teaching career at Eastside School of Ballet in 2005. She has also taught at Steps of Faith, Decatur School of Ballet, GymTykes, and En Pointe.  She began teaching Intermediate II Jazz and Advanced Ballet at The Studio in the January of 2008 and has since added Intermediate and Primary ballet classes to her teaching repertoire.

Outside of teaching, Miriam continues to dance with Praise in Motion.  She is also an avid reader and writer, having recently graduated from Oglethorpe University with a BA in English.
